Monte Bondone - A terrace overlooking the Alps

The Monte Bondone is one of the most spectacular panoramic terraces of the Alps. Over two thousand meters high, it is only 15 km from Trento and is easily accessible by public transportation, both in summer and winter. It has a preserved natural environment, also thanks to the Integral Nature Reserve that safeguards the species of flora and fauna.

The Alpine Botanical Garden, where more than two thousand species of plants and flowers from the five continents grow, is another gem of these protected areas.

Cycling and trekking to discover the Mountain

Every year, this iconic climb welcomes major international sporting events, such as “La Leggendaria Charly Gaul Trento Monte Bondone”, a prestigious event part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, with a 24-km-long time trial in Valle dei Laghi, a medium-distance race of 57 km and a 141-km-long Granfondo starting from Trento towards the top of this legendary ascent.

Thanks to its technical and organizational qualities, the UCI Gran Fondo World Series has assigned to Trento the 2022 Granfondo World Championships. Another important event is “La Moserissima” will be held, the historic marathon of Trento dedicated to great champion Francesco Moser, and the only stage in Trentino-Alto Adige of the Giro d’Italia d’Epoca.

For trekking lovers this mountain also boasts a rich net of hiking trails and trekking routes with different levels of difficulty to make both families and experienced hikers enjoy the mountains and the beauty of nature.
